About Moon & Earth
Madeline Mooney, Founder & Practitioner
Moon & Earth Healing Arts has been an ongoing evolution since Madeline formally began her healing arts practice in 2017.
“Moon” as an element of the practice name correlates to Madeline’s name, as well as the energy of the Moon itself. From our vantage point on Earth, the Moon constantly shifts in appearance, reflecting the cycles we also experience as humans. A nighttime luminary, it teaches us to trust our intuition for guidance when the landscape is unclear. The Moon speaks to the spirit, depths of our past, present, and where we are going. It offers a reflection of the anchor which remains within when all is in motion.
“Earth” speaks to the tangible anchor that is nature. Nature’s magic is the core inspiration for Moon & Earth Healing Arts. As a child, Madeline found the forest to be a space of comfort and re-connection. The inherent sense of enchantment felt among the plant life guided her towards learning the practice of herbalism. Madeline began studying herbs under Adrienne Allison, an herbalist local to her hometown, Montpelier, VT area, over college breaks in 2009. The lore behind plants has always been a source of intrigue for Madeline, which led to exploration of other magical practices including Tarot, astrology, and eventually energy healing. Lisa Kendrick Nichols and Grace Harrington Murdoch of Boston’s North Shore area were early mentors in building these practices. Akashic Records training from Christabeth Ingold helped foster channeling techniques through which Madeline shares intuitive reading marked by nature symbology.

Currently, Madeline’s practice is largely influenced by her studies of Polarity Therapy, which fosters energetic balance through the framework of harmonizing with the 5 elements of spirit, air, fire, water, and earth. Elemental magic also is also expressed through Moon & Earth’s hand-mixed herbal teas and flower essences, all crafted with intention and reverence for nature.
Connecting with the elements offers tools for harmonizing within, thereby supporting outer harmony as well. Moon & Earth offers space for other teachers, creatives, and sensitive, open-minded people to ground into their magic and soul wisdom.
With 11 years of experience as a public school speech and language therapist, Madeline also works with children and teens. Since summer of 2018, Moon & Earth has provided children’s workshops related to the magic of the faerie realm and teen workshops for connecting to nature’s magic and the magic within. These are on hold for 2024-25 due to the coming birth of Madeline’s first baby, but will continue in the future. In the meantime, small group workshops may be available by request.
